The amount of child support a parent receives is set by the California Guideline formula. This formula factors in a number of variables relating to the family, such as, each parent's income, each parent's tax filing status, timeshare for each parent, certain mandatory deductions.
The law in California is very strict as to what a judge can order under California Guideline child support. Once a judge inputs the both of the spouse's data into the Guideline computer, the judge must order the support indicated by the Guideline computerized formula.
We use the Guideline computerized formula used by the judge to approximate the amount of child support you may receive or be ordered to make.
